Cesar for dinner

Preparation Time
30 mins ***this dish contains raw egg. Pls eat right after preparation.

Cesar salad- what a stalwart creation! I made ours with chicken for my boyfriend and carby croutons for me. If you would prefer to go vegetarian, leave out the bacon and add smoked salmon.

Ingredients
2 fresh eggs
4 slices of bacon
juice of 1 lemon
4 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 anchovy fillets
Olive oil
Salt & Pepper
Chicken/ Crouton Option
250 gm boneless chicken
1 cube bullion
2 slices toast/ baguette

Toolkit
Cutting board, knife, large salad bowl, garlic press, skillet

Optional Toolkit
Small pot for boiling chicken

Preparation (incl Option)
1. Boil small pot of water with bouillon cube and add chicken.
2. Cut bread into thumb size pieces (or smaller if you like).
3. Fry bacon in small skillet. No need to add oil, the bacon usually has enough. Once crispy, take bacon bits out & set aside. Try to keep as much of the bacon grease in the pan since you will need it for your croutons.
4. Add croutons to bacon grease and fry on low heat.
5. In a large salad bowl, mash anchovie fillets and garlic with a spoon
6. Add lemon juice, triple the amount of olive oil and stir well.
7. Add Parmesan cheese, stir & set aside.
8. Take chicken out after approx 10-15 mins. If you are not sure if its done, take it out and cut it in half. If its still red inside, boil it for another 5 mins. Once chicken is done, take it out and let cool.
9. Cut salad into about 2 finger wide pieces & wash thoroughly.
10. Separate egg yolk from egg white and add egg yolk to salad dressing. Stir gently. Let this little video help you if you are not sure how to separate eggs.
11. Cut chicken into slices.
12. Add salad to salad bowl and mix well.
13. Place salad on large plate, pour some bacon over it and add chicken and/ or croutons as you like.

Enjoy!
